“Jax has spent the last 30 days in treatment and will be heading back home later this week,” a representative for the reality star of The Valley confirmed to PEOPLE on Monday, August 19, with TMZ being the first to report the news.
The representative added, “It’s been an emotional month for him, and he is most looking forward to spending time with his son.” Taylor shares a three-year-old son, Cruz Michael Cauchi, with his estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright.
Taylor’s Return To Filming And Future Plans
Taylor, 45, had entered a mental health facility on July 30, according to reports. As he returns home, Taylor is also expected to resume filming for The Valley, which began its second season production earlier this summer, TMZ reports.
The outlet also mentioned that Taylor plans to discuss his time in treatment when he feels ready, and audiences can anticipate an emotional season.
A Bravo representative did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for more details regarding Taylor’s return to filming.
“Jax has always been open about his mental health challenges, especially over the past few months on his podcast. He decided to seek in-patient treatment,” a representative for the Vanderpump Rules alum said when he first entered treatment. “This is a particularly sensitive time for him and his family, and they ask for privacy and respect until he is ready to speak more on this matter.” TMZ initially reported the news on July 30.
Impact Of Separation From Brittany Cartwright
Taylor’s treatment comes during his separation from Cartwright, with the couple announcing their split in February after four years of marriage.
On their joint podcast, When Reality Hits with Jax and Brittany, Cartwright explained that she “decided to move into another home to take some space for [her] mental health.”
The couple, who first met in 2015, have had their relationship documented on Vanderpump Rules, their spinoff Jax & Brittany Take Kentucky, and most recently, The Valley. They married on June 29, 2019, and welcomed their son, Cruz Michael Cauchi, on April 12, 2021.
The news of their split was announced just before the premiere of The Valley earlier this year, with Cartwright telling PEOPLE that she felt “a little bit of relief” since separating from Taylor and that she “needed this space.” Taylor, in turn, mentioned that they both thought it was “best for [their] family” due to ongoing issues.
The Valley is currently filming its second season, with the first season available for streaming on Peacock.
