In addition to the unsealed documents on Epstein, the DOJ revealed in a media release that this first phase of FBI files, “largely contains documents that have been previously leaked but never released in a formal capacity by the U.S. Government.”
The release goes on to say that the DOJ is following through on U.S. President Donald Trump’s, “… commitment to transparency and lifting the veil on the disgusting actions of Jeffrey Epstein and his co-conspirators.”
Attorney General Pam Bondi said in a statement. “The first phase of files released today sheds light on Epstein’s extensive network and begins to provide the public with long overdue accountability.”
The DOJ also noted that the information released are some of “thousands of pages of documents related to the investigation and indictment of Epstein.”
Kash Patel, recently appointed FBI Director noted that the files released signify a “new era” for the agency. He goes on to say, “There will be no cover-ups, no missing documents, and no stone left. If there are gaps, we will find them.”

During his heyday, Epstein socialized with many elites – business moguls, politicians, royalty, and celebrities. In 2008, he entered a guilty plea to solicit prostitution from a minor. He would end up serving over a year in a jail work-release program.
Ten years later, he was charged on sex trafficking charges for dozens of underage girls; some were as young as 14. While he pleaded not guilty, Epstein would later pass away while in prison, awaiting his trial. He was 66 years of age.
The cause of death was noted as a suicide.
