Jenna Ortega Is Bored Of The Iconic “Wednesday” Dance, Even If You’re Not

It’s not everyday that a show inspires a sort of culture revolution, but immediately after the first season aired, the world was captivated by the teen-goth dance proudly brought to us by Ortega’s Wednesday.

TikTokers tried it out – one recreated it on skates – and even the Kardashians tapped into that energy. To this very day, many months after the dust of Netflix’s “Wednesday” first started to swirl, everyone still wants to see the iconic dance. Well, everyone except the dancer, that is.

Jenna Ortega – Wants To Move On From the Popular Wednesday Dance And Try “Something New”

There’s a lot of details behind the famous Wednesday dance to keep us interested for days – for example, Ortega had COVID around the time as the dance’s shooting and wasn’t able to rehearse the material that much beforehand – but Ortega wants us to explore other wonders from the show. I don’t know, like say, the fashion?

In the short clip, we see Ortega holding a script and moaning to the three members of “Please Don’t Destroy” about not wanting to do another “Wednesday dance” routine.

“Honestly, this is really well-written, I just don’t feel like I want to do the Wednesday dance for promo since we’ve seen so much of that already,” she shared. “I think it’s time to do something new.”

A quick look at the actors tells us that Wednesday can hardly talk her way out of doing the dance as they are dressed in the now-popular black ruffled Rave N’ Dance gown that Ortega wore during the dance.

At hearing her say she doesn’t want to do the dance anymore, the guys then pretend that, like her, they don’t want to do the dance too. “I just didn’t know because you’re all dressed exactly like Wednesday… down to the frill,” Ortega said.

Eventually, she had to cave into the gentle teasing of the three comedians, and with Bloody Mary to drive her own, she recreates the dance. However, not so enthusiastically, since she’s been doing and talking about it for months. So it’s understandable that she’s bored with it. Thank you, but still hold on?
