Jenna Ortega Says Wednesday Season 2 Episodes Will Feel More Like A Movie With Character Arcs

At this point, it seems like we’ve been waiting forever to step back into the crazy world that revolves around Wednesday Addams.

There’s a lot we don’t know about the upcoming season, like will the new adventure take place at Nevermore? It’s possible considering they changed the shooting location. Who are the returning characters? Will we get to see some uncle Festus-who-eats-girl-scouts-for-breakfast action?

Most importantly, what will happen to our beloved characters; Enid, Bianca, Xavier, and Ajax? The suspense is killing, literally. And as if that isn’t enough, Jenna Ortega just dropped more interesting tidbits.

Jenna Ortega Gives Thrilling Updates About “Wednesday” Season 2: “She Never Really Changes”

Jenna Ortega was a dream at this year’s Emmy Awards, and apart from bringing her A-game to the red carpet, the star actually brought something even better: some much needed “Wednesday” news.

“We’re definitely leaning into a little bit more horror,” Ortega told E! News on the red carpet. “It’s really, really exciting because, all throughout the show, while Wednesday does need a little bit of an arc, she never really changes and that’s the wonderful thing about her.”

Ortega continued, “There’s really, really good one-liners and I think everything’s bigger. It’s a lot more action-packed. Each episode will probably feel a little bit more like a movie, which is nice.”

After facing delays in production due to the actors and writers strikes, production is scheduled to start sometime in Spring in Ireland – the first season was filmed in Romania.

Jenna Ortega On Why “Wednesday” Season 2 Won’t Be Delving Too Deep Into Horror

Following the meteoric success of the first season, Ortega went on to reveal the new direction planned for the second season during a conversation with fellow actress Elle Fanning on Variety’s “Actors on Actors” last year.

“We’ve decided we want to lean into the horror aspect of the show a little bit more,” Ortega said at the time. “Because it is so lighthearted, and a show like this with vampires and werewolves and superpowers, you don’t want to take yourself too seriously.”
