But now Aniston and Mayer reportedly want to reignite their romance for different reasons. For instance, the “Friends” star  just wants to try the dating scene again. And she decided to experiment with someone familiar by tapping her former boyfriend.

As for John, Mayer reportedly appreciates Jennifer’s passion for exercise and diet. “John’s leading an ultra-healthy lifestyle right now,” explained one source. “And he’s crediting the tips Jen’s been giving him for being part of that.” But Mayer also feels motivated by his memories. As a result, the musician “really wants to revisit that hot chemistry they had!” added the source. 

John Mayer And Jennifer Aniston Reunited Once Before

But although Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer haven’t gone public before, the two have enjoyed an on-again, off-again relationship for years. For instance, in 2020, the actress and musician met up for a pre-Oscars dessert, per Page Six. And insiders shared that despite John dumping Jennifer years ago, the two did succeed in a platonic friendship.

As for that dessert date a few years ago, it actually turned into a foursome. Jennifer, who turned 53 last month, went to the hotel for a pre-event treat with her pal Amanda Anka. And John, 44, popped up with his own pal Andy Cohen. “John Mayer and Andy had dinner at the San Vicente Bungalows earlier on Thursday, then headed to the Sunset Tower for dessert with Jennifer,” clarified an insider. 

But that meeting took place prior to the current romance rumors. And the source added, “It wasn’t a romantic meeting, they are good friends.” As a result, the foursome even planned out Aniston’s next birthday bash.

So could that new round of romance rumors possibly turn into a reality? That seems to depend on whether Jennifer can forgive John’s reasons for dumping her in the first place. For instance, Mayer bluntly blamed her for being nearly 10 years older as the motivation to split, per Marie Claire. “I’ll always be sorry that it didn’t last,” stated John at the time. “But I can’t change the fact that I need to be 32.”
