“His addictions were worse than anyone knows. Jen explained how she had to deal with Ben during benders and blackouts and plenty of ugly arguments. Some pretty incomprehensible stuff,” the insider added.

Sources say it got to a point that the two barely talked to each and slept in different rooms. Even then, Garner was said to always care for him. Through the years, Garner remained by his side hoping he would improve.

Even though Affleck is sober now, it was already too late to save his marriage to Garner as they’d grown apart. A few years after their divorce, Affleck struck it up with an old flame Jennifer Lopez and now they’re happily married.
