Jennifer Lopez Admits That She Had PTSD Before Her Wedding To Ben Affleck

No one can blame her for feeling the way that she did. Jennifer Lopez recently admitted that she couldn’t help but feel a little PTSD before she got married to Ben Affleck last year.

That’s because the first time the two of them attempted to tie the knot, they never managed to walk down the aisle. Here’s what you need to know.

While on Jimmy Kimmel Live this week, Jennifer admitted that because things fell apart between her and Ben during their engagement back in 2004, she was worried that their wedding was never going to happen.

In fact, she even had to pinch herself several times to ensure that she was indeed marrying the love of her life.

“We were so happy and, of course, it was happening, but the wedding was so stressful,” Jennifer said.

“One day, Ben just said, ‘F–k it, let’s just go to Vegas and get married tonight,’” the dancer said. “He said, ‘Go to rehearsal. When you get back here, I’ll have everything set up.’”

Back in July and while sharing details with fans on her website, Jennifer wrote that she and Ben Affleck read their vows in front of “the best witnesses you could ever imagine”. The bride wore “a dress from an old movie”, the groom “a jacket from Ben’s closet.”

The marriage ceremony occurred at “twelve thirty in the morning [Sunday] in the tunnel of love drive through”, accompanied by their children from previous relationships, the post said. “Love is patient”, Jennifer added, “twenty years patient” – in obvious reference to the fact the couple were first engaged 18 years ago before the wedding was called off. The post was then signed off: “With love, Mrs Jennifer Lynn Affleck.”
