Is it possible that Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have decided to take the friendly exes route as they forge on with their divorce?

The pair was seen with their children on a recent outing in what was their first public appearance together following Lopez’s divorce filing.

Divorce rumors had been plaguing Lopez and Affleck for months even before Lopez officially filed the papers on August 20. At the time, it was revealed that Lopez could take no more because Affleck wasn’t willing to put in the work to resolve the issues in their marriage.

Their Saturday, September 14 outing was the first time that the estranged couple were spotted together. Each star arrived at the Beverly Hills Hotel with their children: the “Marry Me” actress with her 16-year-old twins Emme and Max, and the “Batman” actor with two of his three children, 15-year-old daughter Seraphina, and 12-year-old son, Samuel.

Lopez, always fashionable, brought her A-game to the family outing in a high-waisted, dark-wash jeans that flared at the knee down and still hugged her curves. Her caramel blonde hair more or less matched the gold-rimmed brown aviators she wore to shade her eyes.

Affleck went for a more casual get-up in a cobalt blue button-up top, jeans and a pair of Nike sneakers. He matched Lopez by completing the look with aviators, though his were way more shaded.

Insider Debunks Allegations Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck Were Spotted Kissing

The outing obviously came fresh with its own brand of controversies, with many wondering whether the stars were looking forward to getting back together. In fact, an anonymous source claimed that the stars were seen “holding hands and kissing.”

“Ben and JLo are currently at the Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel holding hands and kissing,” an anonymous source told Page Six on September 14.

This was quickly put to rest by an insider reaching out to PEOPLE to say, “They all came together for a fun lunch so the kids could hang out. [Jennifer’s] trying to be friendly with Ben. They are still moving forward with the divorce though. They are working out financial details amicably.”

The source continued: “A divorce is never easy, but Jennifer doesn’t want to be selfish about it. The kids always got along and have fun together. It makes her happy seeing the kids happy together. Happy kids are her priority.”
