Jennifer Lopez Files For Divorce From Ben Affleck – No Prenup, No Settlement

Rumors have been swirling around for a while now about a Ben Affleck/Jennifer Lopez divorce, and it seems as if JLo has officially pulled the trigger on this.

According to TMZ, Lopez filed legal documents on Tuesday, August 20 in the Los Angeles County Superior Court; however, she filed them pro per, which means she did so on her own without a lawyer.

Lopez listed the date of separation as April 26 of this year. The twosome tied the knot on July 16, 2022, in Las Vegas.

Interesting enough, August 20^th is a significant date for the Bennifer couple as it is the second anniversary of the traditional ceremony they held in Georgia.

JLo Files For Divorce – No Prenup?

It doesn’t seem like a coincidence that JLo chose August 20 of all days to file; however, that isn’t the oddest thing about this divorce filing.

As per the TMZ report, in a shocking turn of events, there’s no indication of a prenup within the documents that JLo filed.

This would mean that whatever profit or earnings made between Jen and Ben during their 2 years of marriage can be split between the pair.

No prenup is beyond interesting, as not only are the two wealthy, seasoned celebrities, this isn’t their first marriage rodeo, for either person.

This is Ben’s second marital union, while it’s Jennifer’s fourth.

Jennifer Lopez Waives Spousal Support

In addition, the divorce documents indicate that Lopez waived spousal support, and asked the judge to deny Affleck the same.

There are no custody issues, since the two didn’t have children together.

Last but not least in the list of divorce shockers, nothing has been hashed out between the two in terms of money prior to the documents being filed.

Their marital home in Beverly Hills has been listed for sale, and while Ben has bought a house in Brentwood, Lopez is currently looking for a new house.

As per TMZ, Bennifer has been trying for months now to iron out a settlement, but those talks are still ongoing.

Unfortunately, reports reveal that the two aren’t currently speaking to each other.

This begs the question as to why Lopez would file for divorce at this time if there were no settlement when it comes to money.
