Jennifer Lopez Won’t Forget OR Forgive Ben Affleck’s Party Past!

Ben Affleck may want to move ahead in his new married life with Jennifer Lopez. But J Lo doesn’t feel quite so ready to release her new hubby’s past. And insiders told Radar that Jennifer came up with a way to make Ben pay for his missteps. 

For instance, Lopez literally makes Affleck pay for all their expenses. And memories of her Batman star hubby’s strip club party days make her decide to stay with that approach to their life. As a result, after tying the knot in July, J Lo keeps Ben on a tight leash, claimed one insider. 

Jennifer’s refusal to forget the past dates back to Affleck’s and Lopez’s first engagement in November 2002. And at that time, their romance seemed perfect. But not even a year later, Ben’s problems with booze and partying caught up with him. And he allegedly enjoyed a night filled with partying at a strip club. That behavior, followed by partying with various women at a friend’s home, resulted in a battle just days prior to Affleck’s and Lopez’s plans for a $2 million wedding.

Ben Affleck Pays All Of Jennifer Lopez’s Bills

Two decades after Ben’s strip club playboy days, J Lo keeps Affleck on a tight lease by making him pay. “She hasn’t forgotten or completely forgiven him,” noted one insider. “So this is her way of reminding him there is a cost to his behavior.”

The first time that Ben and Jennifer got engaged back in 2002, Lopez allegedly got so upset at his then-struggles with booze and partying that they postponed their wedding. And after trying and failing to move past the scandal, the two split. But 18 years later, Jennifer agreed to try again. And they enjoyed a glorious star-studded wedding. But the glamour of that day didn’t last for long.

However, insiders shared that Lopez won’t change her resolve to make Affleck pay. And although she’s worth $400 million versus Ben’s $150 million fortune, J Lo puts the burden on the actor to foot the bill for their married life together. Because of that setup, one insider even compared Affleck to Lopez’s personal bank account. 

Jennifer Lopez And Ben Affleck Go From Romance To Reality

As a result of his past partying, Affleck knows that he owes Lopez a debt both emotionally and financially, say insiders. And at least with regard to money, Ben can pay that debt in various ways. For instance, the actor “pays for their private jet flights, their vacations, hotels, lavish gifts from clothing to jewelry, and fine dining whenever they go out. The limos are all on his tab, too,” claimed one source.

“And he’s always buying her things,” continued the insider. “It’s pretty ironic since he’s not worth nearly what she is. But he knows he’s paying off an emotional, as well as financial, debt.” However, money doesn’t buy happiness. And both Jennifer and Ben have allegedly fought since their wedding. After three months of married life, the two struggle with their new reality. “They’re back to the grind of work and parenting,” pointed out one friend. “Reality has set in.”  

For instance, Ben famously smokes. But J Lo hates those cigarettes. And though he promised to quit, Affleck continues to smoke whenever he feels anxious. The newlyweds also face demanding careers. And they continue to work on blending their families. Ben and his ex-wife Jennifer Garner co-parent Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, 10. And Jennifer co-parents twins Emme and Max, 14, with her third husband, Marc Anthony.
