Jennifer Lopez Gets To Keep Her Ben Affleck Engagement Ring, And It Costs A Fortune!

The “not.going.anywhere” big old green engagement ring is not going anywhere, even though Ben Affleck is. Jennifer Lopez and Affleck have finalized their divorce a few months after Lopez filed, so that’s one celebrity divorce that we’re not going to file under the “Brangelina” box.

When you love someone, you make them a custom ring. When you love that person even more, you make sure it’s an 8.5-carat diamond that matches their favorite color. And if you’ve got the money to splash, spend five million dollars on it, because, why not?

Okay okay, maybe Lopez and Affleck are not exactly the models for true love, but that ring is something to cherish, I can tell you that. In 2021, it was the symbol of their blossoming second-chance romance story.

Fast forward to 2022 and the loved up couple were eloping to Las Vegas for a very private wedding, whose purpose was more or less defeated when they had an extravagant three-day wedding bash just a few weeks after.

In August 2024, after months of marriage trouble rumors and speculations, Lopez finally filed for divorce from the ‘Batman’ star.

At the time, she revealed she was given no choice by Affleck, who had refused any and all attempts at opening up conversations, which might have reasonably helped them work through their differences.

Per the divorce documents, Affleck “disclaims and waives all right, title, and interest in and to the following assets hereby confirmed and transferred” all of Lopez’s “clothing, jewelry, and miscellaneous personal effects in her possession, custody or control.”

This means that Lopez gets to keep the large green diamond ring, estimated to be worth over $5 million. The radiant-cut green diamond, flanked by two half-moon accent diamonds set on the platinum band, bore a personal Affleck message engraved on it. It reads, “not.going.anywhere.”

After receiving the band, Lopez shared how thoughtful the gift was with her newsletter subscribers, writing, “Green has always been my lucky color and now, for sure, it always will be.”

A PEOPLE diamond expert revealed at the time that green diamonds are “rare.” And not just that, the value of such treasures are likely to “significantly increase over time,” so maybe Lopez did not go so wrong in falling for Ben again.

“Green diamonds among the most difficult to cut and a diamond like this could have taken a year or more to plan and cut to ensure that it reflects the best cut and color possible,” the expert said.
