Awkward? Well, it might sound odd to learn that one celebrity wife commented on her husband’s ex-wife. But Jennifer Lopez just rocked her interview about husband Ben Affleck’s ex-wife Jennifer Garner via the Daily Mail.
And JLo reflected on how she has managed co-parenting Ben’s children with his former wife. Lopez and Affleck spent 20 years in an on-again, off-again romance before tying the knot several months ago. Jennifer and Ben began dating in 2002, then went into on-and-off mode through 2004.
But after Affleck’s split from Lopez, he tried to move on with Jennifer Garner, tying the knot in 2005. However, Ben shocked fans when he announced that he felt trapped during his marriage of 13 years to Garner. And he even claimed that if he hadn’t split in 2018, he likely would never have gotten sober.

Garner and Affleck continue to co-parent their children after their breakup. Their children range in age from Violet, 16, to Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, 10. And now Ben has sought to work with both his ex-wife and current wife in helping the kids harmonize with Lopez’s children.
Lopez’s marriage to Marc Anthony in 2005 resulted in twins Emme and Max, now 14. But while Jennifer and Marc haven’t shared any problems in public after their 2014 divorce, Affleck has gone into detail about Garner. And he sparked a backlash when he claimed that she made him miserable during their marriage.

As a result, Lopez’s positive comments about Garner may help to ease the complicated relationship. For instance, JLo called Garner “an amazing co-parent.” And she shared that they all work well together in helping the children. In addition, Lopez and her ex husband Marc have succeeded in keeping their co-parenting successful.

But it’s not likely that anyone will forget what Ben said just last year about Garner. After claiming he felt “trapped in his marriage to Jennifer,” Affleck insisted he would “never have got sober” without the divorce. And he explained, “Part of why I started drinking was because I was trapped. I was like, “I can’t leave because of my kids, but I’m not happy, what do I do?” And what I did was [I] drank a bottle of scotch and fell asleep on the couch, which turned out not to be the solution.”
Critics blamed Ben for attempting to blame his alcohol addiction on his ex-wife. And the backlash grew when she drove him to rehab in 2018. However, Lopez has stayed positive in talking about the transition for the children after she and Affleck tied the knot. And she shared that she hopes to handle it all carefully because of the children’s feelings. But she added that it seems to go well so far.
