The performer released her ninth studio album This is Me…Now with a movie premiere on Amazon Prime on Friday, February 16. It currently has an audience score of 86 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.
Movie watchers seem to love the project more than critics do. One critic wrote: “A passion project, about passion, that curiously lacks that essential quality.”
Over on IMDb, the movie got five out of 10 stars. One user wrote a review titled: “Over an hour of J.Lo talking about J.Lo.” This is Me…Now is the follow-up to her album This is Me…Then.

She wanted to film and produce a follow-up to the album that was inspired by her public relationship with Ben Affleck.
The 16-track album includes features from rapper Latto. It’s her first full-length album in a decade. The film includes features from Ben Affleck, Fat Joe, Keke Palmer, Jane Fonda, Poste Malone, and Sofia Vergara.
Jennifer Lopez dropped this unusual project alongside a press tour to drum up interest, but it didn’t work. The album release and movie had “record-low” numbers.
According to a report via The U.S. Sun, the album hasn’t cracked 40,000 streams. It lacks any upbeat songs and singles aside from “Can’t Get Enough,” which currently has four million streams.

No other track on the album has cracked one million streams. Fans have called the project “boring” and “uninspired.”
Pop Stuff on X reported that Jennifer Lopez’s new album has become “the lowest-debuting album by any main pop artist in history on the platform.” It debuted with 14,000 streams on Spotify.
This is a new career low for the triple threat who once had the number-one movie and album in the same week.

The 54-year-old spoke to Entertainment Tonight about her future in music. She admitted that this album is her last. J.Lo feels that she doesn’t have it in her to do another album. This project was years in the making.
“The truth is I don’t even know if I’ll ever make another album after this,” Jennifer told the outlet. “It’s such the kind of quintessential kind of Jennifer Lopez J.Lo proejct, and I really feel very fulfilled, so they really will be collector’s items at a certain point. Don’t tell Benny [Medina] that’s what I’m thinking — this might be my last album ever.”

This was a really REALLY bad attempt at something she just can’t do anymore… an insult to real dancing professionals (did she actually try at contemporary?!?!) – and what a narcissist – could she be be wearing more Gucci?!?! Did they sponsor her project??? Enough already… You guys get my point…
Over-rated with her singing and acting abilities. Stop trying at this point.
The end of JLO’s musical career will mark the end of one of the most fraudulent musical careers in pop history, only to be eclipsed by Milli Vanilli. Jennifer Lopez was propped up by a venomous ex husband who used the purchased vocals of enormously talented Black raced and Latino ethnic artists. Jlo shamelessly lip-synched to these artists during her videos to give the impression that she was the singer. The talented Black singers were used as background singer, but they should have been featured artist on her albums. In fact, Jlo has no distinct voice of her own and till this day, no one can detect Jlo’s sound. Her voice is flat, often out of tune, and lacking of any vocal agility. However, in her mind, she’s up there with the greatest singers of this era. The fact that she has no shame in all of this leads me to believe that she might be pathological by nature.
I’m still trying to finish watching that movie for 2 weeks now.
Saw movie or whatever that was. I didn’t think I would like it and I was right! It’s almost painful to watch. How many ways can a person say LOOK AT ME! I hope Ben Affleck comes out of this marriage with a few marbles left. I picture him sitting in a corner rocking and moaning while sucking his thumb .
