In a new ad campaign for her beauty line, JLO BEAUTY, the singer opened up about feeling like she’s an “outsider” in Hollywood. The “Jenny From the Block” singer launched her line in Sephora’s “We Belong” campaign, joining in to pay a tribute to National Hispanic American Heritage Month. For the campaign, she shared a video promoting her latest venture, which featured the star opening up about candid matters.

“I think for me… I know it’s so important for all of us to feel like we belong,” Lopez stated in the video. “Um… and like most people there’s so many times in your life where you feel like an outsider. I feel like that in Hollywood sometimes,” she continued. “I still feel that way. But the truth is, you just need your little tribe.”

For Lopez, seeking to get accepted by others should always come second to self-acceptance. “I believe we all have this limitless power inside us that makes us unstoppable,” she explained. “I worked really hard to get where I am today, and I’ve learned that the only way to truly feel beautiful is to love and accept yourself fully for who you are.”

On Monday night, at the 2021 Met Gala, J-Lo showed off her famed glow in a Western-inspired look, complete with a cowboy hat. Her Met Gala appearance was a solo one, and before she walked the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, she shared pics with her fans on Instagram.

Her extravagant floor-length dress was designed by Ralph Lauren and featured a Western color for the dress, which was matched by the belt. The look was completed with a Faux fur which she draped around her shoulders.
