Jennifer Love Hewitt Reveals Why She’s Concerned About Headlines Claiming She’s Unrecognizable

Without having the allure of being a celebrity or the hundreds of background haters that come with it, every once in a while, we let someone we shouldn’t let their opinions matter get under our skin.

It’s a truth universally acknowledged, even if some people can claim to be better handlers of this unnecessary abuse than most. Jennifer Love Hewitt sadly isn’t one of those “thick skin” kind of people.

Jennifer Love Hewitt – Says Aging In Hollywood is Really Hard

Actress Hewitt was a grand looker in her youth, and even right now after welcoming three children with husband Brian Hallisay.

But for some fans, stars shouldn’t age, or even attempt to conceal the effects of aging by using something as ordinary as a phone filter.

Being a child actor is never easy, because it means you have to grow up under the watchful eyes of the public, having every of your actions subject to public opinion. And even though she may be 44 today, Hewitt hss been in Hollywood for nearly four decades.

When it comes to the topic of aging, Hewitt doesn’t believe it’s generally that bad, saying that “aging is a privilege.”

“It means you’re here. It means you’re still living it,” she explained, afding that every line appearing on one’s face is proof they’ve experienced lots of emotions. “But aging in Hollywood is really hard. It’s really hard because you can’t do anything right,” she shared with the host of “Inside of You” podcast, Michael Rosenbaum.

This conversation is coming just after Hewitt experienced backlash online for simply using filters on a makeup-free picture she shared on social media.

“I really gave it no thought,” she said of the decision. “The picture ended up somewhere. And a bunch of people were like, ‘Jennifer Love Hewitt is unrecognizable”, she said of some of the brutal headlines written. “She’s unrecognizable and so she’s gone to filters because she doesn’t want us to know how bad she actually looks now in her 40s”. And I was like, ‘This is crazy.’ Right?

To water everything down with a joke, the “9-1-1” star shared more filtered pictures, making fun of the headlines. “So then, I did a bunch of like over-the-top, like crazy filters on my Instagram, and I was like, ‘Au Natural. No filter’ Like trying to make fun of it. And then they came after me for that… They were like, ‘Now she’s just defending herself.’ However, this terribly ricochetted. “I realized,” she lamented, “I can do no right.”

Jennifer Love Hewitt – On Why She Can’t Pretend Not To Care About the Haters

When asked why she just can’t ignore the haters, she revealed that she can’t help it.
“To pretend that we don’t [care] is a lie. We’re human and yes they’re known as haters,” the “9-1-1” actress said. “But it’s human nature to be like, ‘What do people think about me?’ I’ve been an actor for 36 years… You don’t want to care what people think about you, but you have to care what people think about you. You want to know what’s out there.”

She continued: “The only reason those people bother me… I am a mother of a girl. And it’s dangerous what we put on people. It’s dangerous, I think, to say to women, ‘You can’t look like you’re not 22 to me anymore, because I don’t know how to take that.’ OK, well, that’s your problem! ‘Cause I’m 44 and this is what I look like.”
