Joe Jonas Sparked Sophie Turner Divorce Rumors Before Filing

Joe Jonas sparked rumors that he wanted to split from Sophie Turner even before hiring a divorce attorney. And the rumors came after four years of marriage and two children. 

However, as the gossip soared, Joe just took the first step to end his marriage, filing for divorce from Sophie. Keep reading for all the details below.

Joe Jonas – Files For Divorce

After a four-year marriage to Sophie Turner, Joe Jonas tried to do his best to save the relationship. But the musician finally decided that the marriage could not be saved. And so he filed for divorce, according to Page Six.

But before hiring a divorce attorney, Jonas seemed to enjoy a dream marriage with Turner, noted People. And the two even tied the knot twice, the first time in Las Vegas and the second time in France.

Amid the divorce process, Jonas, 34, and Turner, 27, co-parent two children. Their daughter Willa, is 3, and their second daughter, is just 14 months old.

But when the romance began, Game of Thrones actress Turner revealed that their mutual friends had wanted to introduce the two “for a long time.” And at first, Sophie and the Jonas Brothers musician made their connection through Instagram DMs in 2016. “We were following each other on Instagram,” she recalled.

But then Sophie recalled how Joe “direct-messaged me one fine day, out of the blue.” And after that, Jonas sent Turner an invitation to spend time together amid his tour’s stop in the UK.

But though they agreed to meet at a bar, the actress wondered if the DM could actually represent a catfish.

As a result, Sophie took her “rugby boys” for safety. However, rather than his own security squad, Jonas showed up with a pal. And the next year, the musician proposed.

The engaged couple even posted twin Instagram pics to celebrate, with Sophie’s hand showing off her engagement ring. And Jonas wrote in his caption, “She said yes.” But Turner then responded, “I said yes.”

And after the engagement, their family and friends flocked to congratulate them. For instance, Joe’s brother Nick Jonas wrote, “Ahh! Congratulations to my brother… and sister in law to be on your engagement. I love you both so much.”

Joe Jonas – Saw Divorce As ‘Last Resort’

A surprise wedding in Las Vegas followed, with an extravagant ceremony in France coming later. And in 2020, Sophie and Joe welcomed their first daughter, Willa.

Their second baby arrived in July 2022. And Joe gushed over the experience, calling it “amazing to be a dad and to learn every day more about myself and what that’s like.”

Just last month, the actress shared a cute photo of the two to celebrate Jonas’ 34th birthday. The pic showed the two donning matching pajamas. And Sophie wrote, “Happy birthday handsome.”

But insiders shared that Joe feels now that divorce seems best for the family. And one source shared, “Divorce was a last resort for Joe. He never wanted to break up his family,” added the insider. “But he had to take what he felt was the best course of action for his girls.”

And the source pointed out, “An unhappy home isn’t a home, and the truth is that he and Sophie were going through it this year. There’s a lot of noise out there,” added the insider about the gossip. “But it wasn’t a straw-that-broke-the-camel’s-back situation like it’s being reported.”
