Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello have gone their separate ways after seven years of marriage. And an insider told Page Six that a disagreement about welcoming children into their lives led to the split.
Because Joe always longed to become a father, he reportedly felt that he needed to move on since Sofia allegedly didn’t share his views.
Manganiello, 46, and Vergara, 51, tied the knot in November 2015. And at the time of their wedding, the Modern Family star reportedly felt open to the idea of adding more children to her life. Sofia already has raised her now-31-year-old son Manolo with her ex-husband, Joe Gonzalez. However, Vergara also got involved in a long court battle over custody of two frozen embryos from her 2013 IVF treatments with then-fiancé Nick Loeb.

Loeb wanted to bring the embryos to term. However, a judge ruled in favor of Sofia in spring 2021. And that experience may have changed her views on having more children, according to insiders.

And sources revealed that the clash over having children caused the split. As a result, Joe just filed for divorce. And he cited “irreconcilable differences” in his divorce petition. However, rumors that the actor’s sobriety impacted his marriage did not prove true. And neither Joe nor Sofia cheated during their relationship.
When the Magic Mike XXL actor and the America’s Got Talent judge decided to separate, they issued a statement. And they announced, “We have made the difficult decision to divorce.”

However, Joe and Sofia described themselves as individuals who still “love and care for one another very much.” As a result, they added, “We politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.” And well-known divorce attorney Frederic J. Siegel, who does not represent either Manganiello or Vergara, predicted that the two will split cleanly financially. They signed a prenuptial agreement prior to their wedding.
