In a recent interview to promote his new movie, “Frankie Meets Jack”, streaming on Tubi, Joey Lawrence lifted the lid on what he honestly thinks about his brother Matthew Lawrence’s hot new girlfriend. But her hotness was not the only quality the actor measured her by, as she also passed the compatibility meter.

“She’s great, a sweet person, super genuine, so warm and kind. And yeah, they’re just having a great time and it’s just good to see him happy and he makes her happy. So that’s all you can ever ask for,” the 46-year-old said of his brother’s new girl.

Matthew, 42, and Chilli, 51, became romantically linked just before Thanksgiving 2022, after being spotted having a good time at a beach in Hawaii that August.

“Life is [full of] unexpected twists and turns — you don’t know what’s up next, but you just hope that everybody ends up happy,” Joey told PEOPLE. “And he’s happy right now and she’s happy, and that makes us happy.” In fact Chilli and Matthew’s love was so perfect that Christal Jordan, Chilli’s long-time rep, said that in all the years she’s worked with the star, she’s “never seen her this in love.”

“She is glowing. They are really cute together,” Jordan said, before confirming that the lovers spent Thanksgiving and Christmas in Atlanta, which was where the actor officially met Chilli’s family. On New Year’s weekend, the pair went Instagram official with their relationship with a short clip of them dancing along to A-ha’s “Take Me Home” in matching pajamas.

News of their relationship came three months after it was reported that Matthew and ex Cheryl Burke have finally finalized their divorce following three years of marriage.
