John Candy’s Children Pen Heartfelt Message In Honor Of His Legacy 29 Years After His Death

It’s almost three decades since John Candy passed on, but his legacy lives on in the hearts of his children and in the hearts of his fans.

Christopher Candy will never not miss his late dad John Candy, who is known for such movies as “Uncle Buck”, “The Great Outdoors”, and “Wagons East”. On Saturday, John Candy’s son and daughter, Jennifer, paid tribute to their father with a throwback picture of the legendary actor.

“Sending love to my father today. 29 years ago you started a new journey,” wrote Chris, 38, in the caption. “I miss you and think of you often. I still think of you daily. Loss is never easy but I can optimistically say it is one of the great teachers in life.”

Jennifer also shared some few words in remembrance of her father, writing: “You will always be around ❤️ You will always be missed ❤️ You will always be loved ❤️.” The sweet words were shared alongside a younger picture of herself.

John Candy tragically passed away after suffering a heart attack in May 1994 at the age of 43. At the time of his death, he was in the middle of filming “Wagons East” in Durango, Mexico.

Candy became a popular name in the 1980s with such films as 1981’s “Stripes”, 1983’s “National Lampoon’s Vacation”, 1987’s “Spaceballs” and, probably one of his most famous projects, “Uncle Buck (1989)”. This made him a veteran of Canada’s Second City improv comedy troupe.

Last October, several media sources revealed that the Candy family is developing a documentary based on the late comedian’s legacy through Reynolds’ Maximum Effort production company with Ryan Reynolds, who is Canadian, and Colin Hanks.
