Bobby Sherman passed away from stage four cancer this week, and John Stamos paid him tribute. He was once a teen idol and a heartthrob singer who performed songs like “Easy Come, Easy Go.” He also acted, as does General Hospital alum, Stamos. They both shared a love for music, as John was also a musician and toured with The Beach Boys. This week, he penned a sweet tribute to his friend.
John And Bobby Got Different Breaks
John Stamos got his first major break as Blackie Parrish on the ABC television soap opera General Hospital. He was a member of a band named The Bad Boyz, but it was his time on Full House as Jesse Katsopolis that soared him into a higher popularity. Like his friend, Bobby, he became a teen idol.
Bobby, on the other hand, never aspired to being an actor or a teen idol, and his singing career started pretty much by accident. Discovered when he was a high school footballer by none other than Jane Fonda, he rocketed to fame. He also acted after some time, and that made him even more popular. But really, he wanted to be a child psychologist.

Instead, he ended up doing EMT work and was recruited by the LAPD. He joined the police force, did the academy training, and also married Brigitte Poublon. What a ride he had! Well, John Stamos and his wife jointly paid tribute to the accidental teen idol who just wanted to help people.
The Tribute
The tribute to Bobby by Stamos was short, but he also added the message about her husband that Brigitte had sent him. He said on Instagram, “From one ex teen idol, to another – rest in peace Bobby Sherman. This is from his wife, my friend, Brigitte.” It was very touching, so it’s nice to know that the ABC alum is there for her.

In part, her message said:
Bobby left this world holding my hand—just as he held up our life with love, courage, and unwavering grace through all 29 beautiful years of marriage. I was his Cinderella, and he was my prince charming. Even in his final days, he stayed strong for me. That’s who Bobby was—brave, gentle, and full of light.
He was brave, as he was a police officer. He was gentle, because he loved kids, and he brought so much light to millions of people. While the LAPD is well aware of his contribution, they have not yet paid tribute to Bobby Sherman since his death. However, he was recognized as the best when the Los Angeles Police Department named him their Reserve Officer of the Year in 1999. Bobby was 81 when he died.
