Johnny Depp‘s attorney Camille Vasquez became famous during his trial against Amber Heard. And she soon turned into a superstar lawyer. As a result, Vasquez snagged a new gig on NBC. However, the jury might not rule in her favor at the network. Find out the problems. And get more details about Depp’s attorney below.
Johnny Depp’s – Lawyer Camille Vasquez Scores NBC Gig
Before playing a key role in Johnny Depp’s trial, only the legal world knew about Camille Vasquez. But thanks to her winning part in that effort, she quickly became a superstar. And that led to an offer from NBC.
However, employees at the network don’t feel so impressed with Camille, say insiders via Radar
.
“Poor Camille arrived at precisely the wrong time,” a source explained. And the insider also asked how NBC obtained the big bucks to hire Vasquez amid prepping for a huge layoff. “The week she arrived, double digits of workers were fired — yet NBC found the money to hire a 38-year-old beauty queen!” sneered the source about the attractive attorney.
And the insider also claimed that some other employees directly dislike Vasquez. They believe that if she had not become famous for guiding Depp to his win against Heard, she would never have gotten her gig at NBC. “Camille wouldn’t have been booked as a guest before working for Johnny Depp,” said the source.
NBC Staffers Dislike Camille Vasquez
Because Vasquez so easily won a role as a legal analyst, other NBC employees feel annoyed, according to one insider. “And now she’s on the staff, and folks around the office are mad,” the source added. However, some understand why NBC tapped Vasquez for her legal analyst role.
In the wake of her success defending Depp in his defamation trial against Heard, Vasquez saw her career soar to celebrity attorney status. For instance, Camille became a partner at her law firm soon after her win for Johnny. And she attracted more celebrity clients, such as Kanye West. The rapper hired Vasquez to assist him during one phase of his now-ended divorce from Kim Kardashian.
But Camille’s celebrity status doesn’t change the views of some NBC staff members. And they feel that her hiring discounts their reporting, according to insiders via the NY Post Vasquez recently appeared on the Today show.
And NBC News employees complained “that the hiring discounted NBC’s own reporting” on the Depp-Heard trial. One journalist even sent a “written complaint to management raising concerns about the decision to hire her as an analyst. For her to end up in this branding, as an NBC News Analyst — it puts her in league with the journalists of this network, and that’s unfortunate,” summed up one insider.
