Since news of his replacement wrought around the time of his ex-wife Amber Heard accusing him of some heinous crimes, fans have categorically refused any and all ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ remakes and adaptations. But if you ask me, the idea to make Margot Robbie a pirate comes across as rather fetching.
Regardless, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ is still one of Disney’s biggest franchises, and the show must go on, as they say, with or without Johnny Depp.
Johnny Depp Has This One Specific Request Before Making A Grand Captain Jack Sparrow Return
Depp might have lashed out at Disney for dumping him after he gave years of his life to the studio, but if you’ve got a good script that he’d likely get a kick out of, then he might play ball.
This is especially fitting to hear, because just last year, Orlando Bloom was talking about how righteous it would be to return to star in ‘Pirates of the Caribbean,’ alongside his pal Johnny Depp.
However, nowhere have we ever had a confirmation that Depp’s return was plausible than when Jerry Bruckheimer, 80, confirmed it during his recent EW interview.

“If he likes the way the part’s written, I think he would do it,” Bruckheimer said. “It’s all about what’s on the page, as we all know… We are still working on a screenplay. We want to make it. We just got to get the right screenplay. We haven’t quite gotten there yet, but we’re close.”
You may know Bruckheimer for heading such movies as ‘Armageddon, ‘Top Gun,’ ‘Con Air’ and the ‘Bad Boys’ films.
Depp has headed the five ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ movies between 2003 to 2017, and within that time the franchise has managed to gross a total of $4.5 billion.
Prior to this new update, we’ve heard that Disney is considering a Margot Robbie reboot and another addition to the original franchise that does not feature Depp’s Jack Sparrow.
Fast forward to 2022 and Robbie would downplay the idea in a Vanity Fair interview, saying, “I think Disney agrees they really want to make the Margot one, too.”
