Johnny Depp and Amber Heard concluded one trial with the verdict being that Amber Heard owes the star a ton of money. Then she tried reversing the settlement payout which led to some umbrage in Depp’s camp, resulting in a gung-ho response? Would Johnny Depp’s lawyers have let it slide if the Aquaman actor hadn’t appealed the verdict?

According to The News, Johnny Deep, “was prepared to move on with life if Amber Heard had not tried appealing for a settlement reversal.”

The outlet reports that Johnny Depp fans, “have been taken aback by the legal team’s revelation regarding the appeal attempts Amber Heard ‘desperately’ undertook to reserve the settlement payout.”

Allegedly this statement was issued by Johnny Depp’s legal team itself. Their statement reads, “The verdict speaks for itself, and Mr. Depp believes that this a time for both parties to move on with their lives and heal.”

They go on to say, “But if Ms. Heard is determined to pursue further litigation by appealing the verdict, Mr. Depp is filing a concurrent appeal to ensure that the full record and all legal issues are considered by the Court of Appeal.”

Meanwhile, it’s been reported that the 36-year-old actor sold her California home, making a profit of about $500K, in an effort to pay off her ex. Outlets point to Zillow property records and the sale of her Yucca Valley Home. Apparently the Southern California property netted her a profit of $480,000 after she sold it for $1.05 million.

TMZ reports that the new owner of the house has confirmed that, “he was in contact with Heard’s people.”

Heard filed the notice to appeal the court’s decision in the bombshell defamation case which delivered the verdict that she defamed Depp in an opinion piece she wrote for The Washington Post. Subsequently Depp was awarded $10.35 million in damages. But Heard won one of her three counter-suit claims and was awarded $2 million in compensatory damages.

After the verdict, Heard wrote on Instagram, “The disappointment I feel today is beyond words. I’m heartbroken that the mountain of evidence still was not enough to stand up to the disproportionate power, influence, and sway of my ex-husband.”
