Johnny Depp has become close friends with Alice Cooper. But amid their eight years playing in the band Hollywood Vampires, Cooper never talked about Depp’s divorce drama with Amber Heard, with one exception.
And Alice recalled how Johnny reacted to a proposal that he and Amber remake a certain movie. But Depp’s pal also revealed how many times the actor has viewed one of his own movies. Get all the details below.
Johnny Depp To Remake ‘War Of The Roses’ With Amber Heard?
During his friendship with Johnny Depp, Alice Cooper has avoided talking about his divorce drama with Amber Heard. However, when Cooper did bring up the topic, he did so with a suggestion.
And he shared via Deadline that he told Depp, “I have a great idea. You and Amber do a remake of The War of the Roses. Who wouldn’t go and see that?”
The 1989 movie featured Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner as a married couple who fought with each other. And Depp responded with a laugh, according to Cooper.
However, Alice also revealed how Johnny feels about his music versus his acting.
“Johnny is a good guitarist,” praised Cooper. “And in a way he would have been happiest doing that, playing side of stage in a band and not having to deal with the level of attention he gets. He just happens to be a really good actor.”
How Many Of His Movies Has Johnny Depp Seen?
And as an example of how Depp feels about his own movies, Cooper shared, “He has never seen a single one of his movies.” But in contrast, after Alice proposed the remake of a movie with Amber, Johnny wanted to focus on his music. “He laughed. Then it was, ‘What songs are we doing?’” Copper recalled.
Depp and Heard were married from 2015 to 2017. And their divorce attracted attention around the world. Both alleged abuse and fought defamation charges.
But some saw comparisons between the “War Of The Roses” movie and Johnny’s and Amber’s real lives, noted Vanity Fair.
In the film, a wealthy couple go from a happy marriage to threatening each other and attacking one other. And critics described the film as a “black, angry, bitter, unrelenting comedy, a war between the sexes.”
However, Depp and Heard did finally reach a $7 million divorce settlement. And in contrast, the film ended with a bizarre death by fallen chandelier.
However, Netflix recently brought a renewed spotlight to Amber and Johnny with its documentary series, Depp v. Heard. It focuses on the 2022 libel trial between former spouses Amber and Johnny.
