Johnny Depp’s Daughter Lily-Rose Depp Becomes Star
And while daddy stays busy in Italy, his daughter Lily-Rose Depp follows in his acting footsteps. Lily-Rose stars in the first sneak peek for a new HBO drama series. And the series, titled The Idol, promises an unsettling tale, noted EW.
The Weeknd (real name Abel Tesfaye) and Sam Levinson, creator of Euphoria, teamed up to craft something representing their “sick and twisted minds.” And The Weeknd also stars with Lily-Rose. However, Johnny may want to take time to guide his daughter. Because HBO’s upcoming drama series actually takes place in the music industry.
The six episodes feature The Weeknd as leader and self-help guru to a cult. And the character then starts a relationship with an aspiring pop idol, portrayed by Lily-Rose. Their love story, fueled with drugs, represents “the sleaziest in all of Hollywood,” promises spoilers.
HBO’s new drama cast includes Troye Sivan, Steve Zissis, Melanie Liburd, Tunde Adebimpe, Elizabeth Berkley Lauren, Nico Hiraga, Anne Heche, Rachel Sennott, Hari Nef, and Blackpink’s Jennie. “When the multi-talented Abel ‘the Weeknd’ Tesfaye, Reza Fahim, and Sam Levinson brought us The Idol, it was clear their subversive, revelatory take on the cult of the music industry was unlike anything HBO had ever done before,” gushed Francesca Orsi, executive vice president of HBO programming. The Weeknd previously starred in voice-overs on American Dad! and The Simpsons. And Lily-Rose recently starred in Wolf, Silent Night, Crisis, and The King.
