Johnny Depp’s – Lawyer Camille Vasquez Talks Trial Aftermath
Camille Vasquez stood up for Johnny Depp throughout his lengthy defamation trial against Amber Heard. And in the process, the attorney became a rising star. As a result, Vasquez has been making the victory rounds of the media addressing the aftermath of the trial. But in the process, Depp’s attorney also discussed Heard’s statements.
For instance, Camille talked about how Amber linked her trial loss to the women’s rights movement, noted the New York Post. And Vasquez expressed disappointment about Heard’s comments. Rather than progressing rights, Amber used “her words against her,” added the legal star. “The key to victory was focusing on the facts and the evidence, and Johnny’s opportunity to speak the truth for the first time,” pointed out Camille.
Both Vasquez and Johnny’s other lead attorney, Ben Chew, also expressed their views on Depp’s win. That verdict, in their opinion, involved six years behind the scenes of gathering evidence. But now the dynamic duo believes that Johnny has regained his life. As for whether Heard could win in an appeal? “We feel very confident that there are no errors that would justify any kind of successful appeal,” stated Chew. However, if an attempt at an appeal does turn into another televised legal show, Vasquez likely will head up the team challenging Amber once more.
Camille Vasquez – Calls Johnny Depp Trial Attention ‘Overwhelming’
Amid her enthusiasm over the verdict, Johnny Depp’s attorney Camille Vasquez found herself turned into a media star. And she confessed that she found all that attention “overwhelming.” In an interview with Good Morning America (see the video below), Vasquez rehashed the win and her sudden fame.
At 37, the California-based attorney also got humble. “But if I can be an inspiration to young women that want to go to law school and study and work hard, then it was all worth it,” stated Camille about the paparazzi attention. However, she also called the fan fascination “surreal” in another interview.
But the trial win turned into a career victory as well for Vasquez. In the wake of her win for Johnny, Camille got promoted to a partnership at her legal firm, per Deadline. And the firm, Brown Rudnick, praised her “performance during the Johnny Depp trial.” Vasquez’s work “proved to the world that she was ready to take this next step now. We are incredibly proud of her and look forward to what she will accomplish as our newest partner,” shared the firm in a statement.
