Johnny Depp Unveils New Song About Not Trusting Humans After Amber Heard: Watch The Ballad Video!

Johnny Depp has taken time to reflect on the aftermath of his defamation trial against Amber Heard. And although the actor won a victory, he also has experienced a sudden soaring of fame. As a result, Depp used his musical talents to pen a ballad about how that feels.

Johnny Depp – Tells Truths Through Song

Who can you trust? In a new ballad, Johnny Depp poses that question. And the actor looked at how it feels to become so famous after his live-streamed defamation trial against Amber Heard. Depp performed his new lyrics with his friend Jeff Beck, per the Guardian.

Titled “This Is a Song for Miss Hedy Lamarr,” the song comes from the duo’s upcoming album, called “18.” Johnny croons as Jeff strums on his guitar. And although the ballad takes its title from movie star Hedy Lamarr, Depp’s remarks about fame seem to relate to his court case facing off against Amber. “I don’t believe, I can’t believe, I won’t believe humans any more,” Johnny shares in the song’s chorus.

But Depp gets dark in some of the lyrics. For instance, he calls it “so hard to talk when no one will hear.” And the actor also expressed discomfort over the constant cameras. “Everyone stares as you quiver in fear,” notes Johnny in his new ballad.

However, the title of the song features in the first part of the ballad. And Johnny points out how Hedy Lammar got “erased by the same world who made her a star. The light of her being, her exotic allure / was torn at the seams for daring to dream.” 

But Depp also weaves in the movie star’s fate with his own. For example, Johnny gets dramatic in describing the challenges of speaking his truth amid fear. “It’s so hard to speak when you’re frozen in scream,” sings Depp. “Feels like a dream,” he adds. “But it’s life and it’s death.”

And the verses also question the actor’s future in the world after his trial against Amber Heard. “Stripped of belief, a thief is a thief,” sings Johnny. And he poses a question. “Who’s  going to stand up to give you relief. Of all dispossessed, it’s so hard to digest. You’ve no right to sit down if you’re nobody’s guest.”
