Camille Vasquez – Law Firms Are Stuck In A Tough Bidding War To Sign Vasquez
Johnny Depp‘s lawyer is being flooded with requests from Hollywood. She is at the center of an ongoing bidding war between several law firms, who are scrambling to get her on their team, following her winning performance during the Johnny Depp V. Amber Heard defamation lawsuit.
Vasquez, 37, is now a star in her own right after she turned the heat on Heard and made the actress admit that she wrote the 2018 Washington Post op-ed to try and sway public opinion against Johnny Depp. Vasquez did not only emerge victorious, but she seems to have stolen the hearts of thousands around the world who followed up on the lawsuit. Firms have widely opened their doors, doing their best to invite Vasquez in.
“Talent agents are circling Camille because they recognize that she is the unicorn — a smart, savvy, poised attorney whose impactful performance during the trial propelled her to a rare level of visibility,” a source told the New York Post. “And the fact that she is a woman of color is an added bonus.”
After the verdict on Wednesday, Camille was flooded by requests from several media outlets and cable channels for an interview.
Camille Vasquez – A Great Voice
“Camille is inarguably a great voice to weigh in on legal matters and networks are naturally chomping at the bit to speak with her about on-air opportunities,” a former network executive familiar with the offers said.
Following the victory, celebrity lawyer Judd Burstein said that she’ll be made a “partner soon” at high-profile law firm Brown Rudnick.
“No firm would allow her to have a role in a big trial like this if she wasn’t on the partner track,” said Burstein, who represents Nicki Minaj. “There are two factors that go into making a partner — your quality of lawyering and ability to attract business. She can probably go anywhere and make a nice deal for herself.”
