The hand of justice on Justin Baldoni was swift following Blake Lively’s claims that he sexually harassed her on the set of their movie ‘It Ends With Us.’
Lively also recalled how he proceeded to threaten to destroy her reputation when she confronted him about it.
At the time of the lawsuit filing, Lively declared, “I hope that my legal action helps pull back the curtain on these sinister retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak up about misconduct and helps protect others who may be targeted.”
But these days, it’s starting to seem less like Baldoni lost his contacts, jobs, and honors through the swift hand of justice as through the conniving fingers of Lively and husband Ryan Reynolds.
Let’s just say that the guy has got receipts and he’s not afraid to show them to the world.
Johnny Depp’s Lawyer Approves of Justin Baldoni’s Approach To Dismantling Blake Lively’s Claims
Right now, there’s a website with Justin Baldoni’s name on it that’s polarizing the minds of fans that once firmly stood with Lively.
This move is said to have left Lively and Reynolds anxious and distressed, and if you doubt it, check that their legal team tried their best to get a gag order on Baldoni.
The first time they told Baldoni to shut up and present his evidence to the court was directly after he’d released a 10-minute behind-the-scenes footage that worked to directly counter one of Lively’s claims in the lawsuit. This caused journalist Megyn Kelly to call her out.
Now, it may not be a Johnny Depp/Amber Heard warfare again, but several elements remind us of it. For one thing, Heard was strictly team Lively at the beginning of this fiasco. And now it’s coming out that some of Depp’s legal counsel are team Baldoni or at least team Baldoni’s approach to winning this lawsuit.
That counsel is Benjamin Chew, and he recently weighed in on the ongoing battle on the Feb. 4 episode of ‘Law & Crime Sidebar with Jesse Weber.’
“Timeline Of Events,” the lawyer said in reference to Baldoni’s website, adding, “I agree — bold, aggressive, chutzpah, whatever the right term is. I think it is very aggressive, usually you would not do something like that before a hearing.”
Benjamin Chew Believes Justin Baldoni’s Team Has Vetted Their Evidence
On Monday, Feb. 3, Baldoni and Lively’s lawyers met in the courtroom for the first time since their clients sued each other. During the hearing, Judge Lewis Liman advised them to rein in their public relations war or risk an expedited trial.
Speaking on this, Chew said, “But I’m sure that they vetted it carefully, that they vetted the material carefully. Certainly, posting a pleading doesn’t seem to be out of bounds; these are pleadings made in the public records. Whenever you’re getting into work product or advocacy pieces, then I think it’s getting closer to the line. So, it’s a novel approach. A bold approach.”
So far, whose side are you on? We’d really love to know.
