PI Who Looked Into Johnny Depp Speaks
The hubbub of the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard trail has begun to subside somewhat, while we await appeals, coming from both sides, to work their way through the system. According to Cinema Blend, however, there is much to be intrigued by in the interim.
According to the outlet, a private investigator who was hired by the Amber Heard legal team to look into the Pirates of the Caribbean star’s life has revealed similarities between Depp and his own father. It seems that both Depps endured very public job losses.
Passivity Runs In Depp Family
Private Investigator Paul Barresi, hired by the Heard legal team to investigate the life of Johnny Depp, recently spoke to the Crime Sidebars podcast revealing some strong parallels between the father, John Christopher Depp Sr., and son. Depp’s dad was a civil servant in the 1960s and Barresi describes him as passive, something Barresi also attributes to his offspring.
According to the PI, the elder’s passivity was apparent when he lost his job, while the public watched closely. In fact, the firing was public enough to make the newspaper at the time. This is something his son can relate to as he also lost work in a very public manner.
Both Depps Publicly Fired
Depp Sr. Was the city manager for Frankfurt, Kentucky, and lost the job in 1969 after he attempted to raise taxes in the city. Apparently, the move didn’t go over well with either the mayor or the Frankfurt City Council with both ultimately pushing the elder Depp from his position.
Johnny Depp has had his own share of very public job losses. Fans, as well as followers of the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard trial, will recall that he was fired very publicly after Amber Heard made her accusations public. Variety addressed, in April of this year, how Disney had decided to cut ties with the actor “to be safe.”
Johhny Depp – Didn’t Sit Quietly
On the podcast, Barresi compared the firings of the two Depps, saying, “This is so much in continuity with what Johnny’s going through right now with dismissal from the Fantastic Beasts series and allegedly being fired from Pirates. Turning the other cheek sometimes isn’t a bad thing.”
Barresi complimented the senior Depp’s passivity in the given situation, calling it a “strength” referencing how Depps didn’t make a stink over his job loss but, instead, just moved on. However, the younger Depp did not move on from his firing from Pirates of the Caribbean and it became the basis for his lawsuit against Amber Heard.
