Jon Bon Jovi Is On the Fence Regarding Richie Sambora’s Proposed Return

Jon Bon Jovi Is On the Fence Regarding Richie Sambora's Proposed ReturnJon Bon Jovi is apparently open to the idea of Richie Sambora returning to rock with Bon Jovi again over 11 years after he originally left the band in the middle of a tour. The thing is, whether he returns or not depends on one thing.

Jon Bon Jovi – Says Touring Is the Only Thing That Would Reunite the Band With Richie Sambora

Just so you know, there is no bad blood between Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora, and though it’s been 11 years since the pair enjoyed a close working relationship, the rocker still believes the band may get to rock with Richie one more time.

Sambora was Bon Jovi’s main guitarist before he departed the band in 2013. Since that time, Sambora and the band’s frontman, Jon Bon Jovi, have had limited communication, even though it is said that there wasn’t any lingering hatred between the two.

After Bon Jovi revealed in an interview that he and Sambora haven’t spoken much over the years, Sambora confirmed his desire to return to the band once the frontman has recovered from his 2022 vocal surgery.

“You never say never,” Bon Jovi said in reaction to Sambora’s request. “I mean, he quit the band 11-plus years ago, and he’s had to deal with a lot of things in his life. But there’s no animosity.”

The thing is the band has gone through many changes since Sambora left, and that might make it a wee bit harder for Sambora to stroll back in as if nothing’s happened. Luckily, this doesn’t mean that Bon Jovi is completely set against the idea of him returning.

“I’ve made four albums since his departure. The band goes on, you know?” Bon Jovi noted. “We’ll see when we get to that point of touring.”

While Sambora maintains that he’s never regretted quitting the band, he did acknowledge that he could have handled the situation better.

“I don’t regret leaving the situation, but I regret how I did it,” he said. “So I’d like to apologize fully right now to the fans, especially, and also to the guys, because my feet and my spirit were just not letting me walk out the door.”

Sambora went on to explain that he quit the band the way he did due to a family emergency.

This revelation made Bon Jovi happy because it dispelled all the rumors saying Sambora quit because of a fight that broke out within the band members. “I guess it would end all the speculation that there was ever a fight [in the group] or any of that stuff,” he said on The Howard Stern Show. “Because — as I’d stated 1,000 times — that was not the case. Just not the case.”
