Jon Bon Jovi Shares Reason He Won’t Be Selling Impressive Music Catalog

Jon Bon Jovi Shares Reason He Won't Be Selling Impressive Music CatalogIn this day and age, singers and performers can make a quick buck on the side by selling their music catalog. Justin Bieber’s done it, Katy Perry’s done it, but Jon Bon Jovi won’t do it. And the answer all comes back to money.

Jon Bon Jovi – Says Their Music Catalog Has “Grown Exponentially” Through The Years

You won’t find Jon Bon Jovi in the lineup of the people who want to sell their music catalogs. Nope, keep the huge one-off payday, this star’s going to keep the rights to his music.

Bon Jovi has a mentor in former songwriting partner Richie Sambora, who sold his catalog in 2020 after exiting the band in 2013. This included his copyright to hits that he co-wrote with the frontman (like “You Give Love a Bad Name,” “Livin’ on a Prayer” and “Wanted Dead or Alive”).

While Bon Jovi and Sambora may be chill, the former has no intentions to follow in the latter’s footsteps. In fact, he doesn’t really get the concept.

“I have no desire,” Bon Jovi tells Yahoo Entertainment. “Our catalog has done nothing but go up [in value] exponentially. I know matter of factly it’s really exploded to like 15-year highs, and the record” – Jovi is probably referencing the 40-year-old band’s 16th studio album, “Forever,” which is yet to dropping on June 7, which according to him “is not even out yet.”

In 2016, Forbes estimated his net worth to be over $410 million. Apart from the money aspect and the fact that people are still listening to their music, Bon Jovi adds, “So I have no need to or desire to. Those are my babies.”

Bon Jovi and his band holds impressive music catalog with songs like “Livin’ on a Prayer” hitting a billion streams on YouTube and Spotify in recent years.

Jon Bon Jovi – On His Preparation To Hit The Road Following Vocal Fold Medialization Surgery

In summer of 2022, after trying different techniques for years, Bon Jovi finally decided to undergo surgery to correct his vocal chords.

Happily, the surgery was a success and he’s been doing rehearsals to get himself ready to hit the road again.

“Just to disarm anyone, I’m very capable of singing again,” Bon Jovi said. “But our bar that we hold is that I want to be able to do two and a half hours a night, four nights a week.

“So the band’s rehearsing on a monthly basis,” he continued. “We’ll work hard for a couple days in a row, as though it’s a tour date. We’re getting closer and closer to that. The surgery was a success. It’s just not quite 100% yet, but it’ll get there.”
