Julia Roberts – Wins Icon Award At Academy Museum Gala
The 2nd Annual Academy Museum Gala turned into an evening filled with stars. And among them, Julia Roberts proved to stand out as the most dazzling. In recognition for her more than 30 years in film, the 54-year-old received the Icon Award. And in a speech, Academy Museum Of Motion Pictures director Jacqueline Stewart reflected on Julia’s achievements, noted Page Six.
“Over the course of her expansive and renowned career, Julia has embodied iconic characters and memorable roles,” stated Stewart. “We are thrilled to be honoring her continued excellence in the industry and contribution to the arts.” And the academy director also thanked Roberts for “making our second annual gala an evening to remember.”
In addition to Julia, the event honored other movie industry standouts. For instance, film director Steve McQueen and actress Tilda Swinton received awards. McQueen took home the Vantage Award for challenging narratives in movies. And Swinton received the Visionary Award for her film achievements. Because of leadership achievements, South Korean movie producer Miky Lee received the Pillar Award.
Julia Roberts – Leads Fashion Parade At Hollywood’s Star-Studded Gala
In an industry where looks sometimes count as much as talent, the Academy Museum Of Motion Picture’s gala also saw stars stepping out in memorable fashion choices. For instance, Olivia Wilde wowed in a sheer silver gown that glittered in the spotlight. And Julia turned heads with her choice of a quietly chic skirt and blazer.
Diana Ross provided the musical memories with her performance. And from actress Glenn Close to supermodel Hailey Bieber, stars took turns posing for photos on the red carpet. But some celebrities like Jessica Chastain and Eddie Redmayne provided an unexpectedly honest insight into how stars feel about other stars. And Jessica confided that Eddie attended the Academy Museum Gala with one main goal: To meet Julia Roberts!
However, for those wanting to know who unofficially won for most daring red carpet style, Olivia Rodrigo stepped out at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures Gala in a gown that gave new meaning to strapless. The impressively low-cut black Saint Laurent frock included an old-fashioned movie star slit. But the dress received a modern update in its always-useful pockets.
