The movie Pretty Woman turned Julia Roberts into a superstar. But the film also sparked a rumor about her feet, noted People.
And amid Julia’s recent appearance on the talk show Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Roberts responded to that famous rumor.
The actress, 56, fielded a question from a viewer about how director Garry Marshall made Julia laugh on the set of Pretty Woman.

And the fan asked Roberts, “Is it true that sometimes [director] Garry Marshall would tickle your feet off camera during Pretty Woman to get you to laugh during a scene?”
However, to the disappointment of the fan, Julia called the rumor “not true. But Garry would do things like this: He would say, ‘Action! Be funny!’ And then I’m just supposed to be laughing or something … I guess you have to know all these people’s names to appreciate this,” added Roberts.
But the actress recalled how her director would make her giggle by calling her “the ‘schlumpy girl.’ And he would say, ‘If the schlumpy girl married Raul Julia, she’d be Julia Julia!’ And then our [director of photography] was a man called Chuck Minsky and [Garry] goes, ‘If Chuck married Nastassja Kinski, she’d be Nastassja Kinski Minsky’.”

However, Julia also spilled on the “hardest drug” she ever took via Page Six. And the Pretty Woman star did so when talk show host Andy Cohen persuaded Julia to participate in his famous Plead the Fifth segment. Because the scene requires guests to answer two out of three questions, Roberts chose to answer a drug question.
And so when Andy asked, “Julia Roberts, what is the hardest drug you’ve ever tried,” the 56-year-old actress confessed, “Mushrooms.” However, Cohen then questioned if Julia felt the experienced seemed “positive.”
“Yeah, it was nice,” admitted the Pretty Woman star. But she warned viewers, “Kids, don’t try it at home!” And Julia also addressed rumors that she faced “a problem with drugs.”
However, Roberts linked the drug addiction rumors to a lengthy hospitalization from the flu. And that made her “so thin.” But Julia called the drug rumors “just absurd, you know. I don’t know how anybody who would do drugs could function. I don’t — nor have I ever done drugs,” she added.
And the Pretty Woman star described it as “boring to be sort of a young actor in Hollywood and not have a drug problem. Well, then, I’m boring, and that’s cool with me, because I’ve got clear skin and clean arms, and I’m just thin. Period. The end. Quit picking on me, you know.”
