Until just last week, Hailey Baldwin Bieber, 25, seemed like she enjoyed living her best life. A happy marriage to her true love Justin Bieber, a promising career, plenty of money, lots of fun…. From the outside, Hailey had it all! But then she experienced a health scare that terrified both the model and her 28-year-old husband. Diagnosed as a blood clot in her brain, the experience felt incredibly scary to the couple, reported Pop Culture.

A rush to the hospital followed. And although Hailey now appears recovered, her husband Justin felt so traumatized by her medical scare that he initially stayed silent. But at a recent concert, Bieber finally broke that silence. And as an unexpected power outage impacted his singing, Justin used that situation as a metaphor for his life.

At his Justice World Tour concert in Denver, Colorado, the Biebs reflected on how “life randomly throws you curveballs. You know, we can’t really control much.” And the pop singer pointed to Hailey’s medical drama as an example of a curveball. “You know, it’s been really scary. But I know for a fact that God has her in the palm of his hands,” he added.

And amid his concert power outrage, Justin Bieber looked at the crowd and expressed his gratitude in the wake of his own personal brush with tragedy. “But tonight, I just, you know, I’m really grateful to be here with you guys just celebrating life, you know?” he shared. “And for us to be in this room all together, you know, laughing, smiling, singing songs, I mean, I can’t think of a better place I’d rather be. So, thank you, guys, for joining me tonight.”

As for specifics on Hailey’s medical scare, the model/socialite first realized a problem when she suffered symptoms that seemed like a stroke. After getting rushed to a hospital for her medical emergency, Bieber’s wife got diagnosed as suffering a blood clot in her brain. And Hailey herself later explained what had happened. 

Doctors discovered a small blood clot in her brain caused a lack of oxygen. But Hailey felt fortunate at what happened next. “My body had passed [the blood clot] on its own,” she explained. But though the model recovered within hours, she admitted the medical situation caused “one of the scariest moments I’ve ever been through.”
