In a truly surprising and bizarre move, Justin Bieber has completely severed ties with Drew House – the clothing brand he founded in 2018 with former stylist Ryan Good and launched in 2019.
Already, a Drew House source has reacted to this new development, calling it a “slap” in the face from the “insensitive” artist, Justin Bieber. Talk about drama.
Justin Bieber Advises Fans Not To Support Drew House Anymore: “Don’t Waste Ur Money On Drew House”
Is there a song for waking up one day and warning fans off a brand you helped to launch, especially one that is named after you. No?
Well, perhaps we can expect it from Bieber’s upcoming album, because the star has completely confused fans with his latest request: don’t support Drew House anymore, to summarize.
I remember when Bieber was launching Drew House, completely ecstatic and enthusiastic about the future of the new startup.
He even roped in Drew Barrymore twice to launch some of the brand’s fashion forward products, which includes an array of T-shirts, sweatshirts and shorts, along with a collection of beige corduroy pieces, emblazoned with the Drew logo and a smiley face.
At the moment we do not yet know what went down internally to make the ‘Ghost’ hitmaker discourage fans from supporting the brand, but we do know that Bieber has been signalling a shift from Drew House for a while now. So whatever happened wasn’t an overnight thing.
“I Justin Bieber am no longer involved in this brand. Drew House doesn’t represent me or my family or life,”
Bieber wrote in the since-deleted post shared on his Instagram Stories on Thursday, April 10, per PEOPLE. “If your [sic] rocking with me the human Justin Bieber don’t waste ur money on Drew House.”
Justin Bieber Sets Fire To Drew House In Animated Video
Prior to this announcement, Bieber, 31, had shared an animated video of himself walking into a house filled with Drew-branded items – a symbolic representation of the brand, no doubt. The animated Bieber then lights a match and sets the house on fire.
He is later show walking towards a bright building with his wife and baby: cartoon Hailey was pushing a stroller. We then see the words “SKYLRK” appear on the screen before the animation fades out.
Bieber has generally been teasing SKYLRK for a while now that his former Drew House team already know something fishy is up even prior to the in-your-face announcement.
“The SKYLRK announcement was a slap in the face to all the people who had been working hard on the next Drew House release,” a source connected to Drew House brand said.
“Also some of his employees were affected from the Palisades and Pasadena fires,” the source continued. “That video he used to burn the house down was highly inappropriate and insensitive but that’s who he really is.” Ouch.
