Hailey and Justin Bieber have often discussed how much they love each other and their marriage. But amid their joy, Selena Gomez fans’ on-going social media attacks on the model have taken their toll. And Hailey even tried to defend herself in a recent interview against allegations that she stole Justin from Selena. 

However, nothing seemed to stop the backlash. Until photos appeared showing Hailey and Selena posing together for a hug. The pics went viral after the two got together at the Academy Museum‘s Gala in Los Angeles. And some wondered how Justin felt.

But an insider told Hollywood Life that the 28-year-old singer feels thrilled. And the source described Bieber as “beyond happy over Selena and Hailey’s encounter at the Academy Museum Gala.” Because of the past that he and Gomez share, Justin got “very emotional,” added the insider.

Justin Bieber – Still Cares About Selena Gomez

Even after marrying Hailey, Bieber still feels concern for his former girlfriend Selena. As a result, Justin had hoped that Gomez and his wife would get together and end those rumors, according to the source. And the insider gushed about “how much he wanted this to happen.”

Regardless of his love for Hailey, the insider believes that Bieber will always “really care about Selena’s well-being. This will never change.” And the source shared that Hailey, 25, and Selena, 30, even spent some time really talking with each other.

“Hailey said that they talked for quite some time,” said the insider about Justin’s wife chatting with Selena. “And although they did not get into anything too deep, they were able to be real with each other about where they are now.” The conversation follows Hailey’s surprisingly intimate interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast late last month.

And during her interview, Justin’s wife boldly addressed all those rumors about a feud between herself and Selena. But she emphasized her hope in becoming so open. And Hailey also sought to identify her emotions toward her husband’s ex girlfriend as positive.

“It’s all respect. It’s all love,” she said. “That’s also why I feel like, well, if everybody on our side knows what happened and we’re good and we can walk away from it with clarity and respect, then that’s fine! That brought me a lot of peace. We know what happened. It is what it is. You’re never going to be able to correct every narrative.”
