Justin Bieber became famous when music manager and exec Scooter Braun discovered him at age 13 on YouTube.
And since then, Scooter has remained a constant in Bieber’s life. However, the two have become estranged.
And that estrangement comes amid rumors that Ariana Grande also left Braun after working with him for a decade.
Find out what insiders shared about Justin’s relationship with Scooter. And get more details about the estrangement below.
Justin Bieber Cuts Off Manager Scooter Braun
Scooter Braun has become known as the music manager to the stars. But one by one, celeb musicians like Justin Bieber have exited their relationships with Braun.
And for Justin, that means working on music without his manager by his side for the first time in more than 15 years, an insider told People.
However, on paper, the 29-year-old pop music prince still remains “managed” by Braun, 42. But sources shared that Bieber has not talked to Scooter in about a year.
And one insider revealed, “Justin’s been working on his new record for the last six months. Scooter and SB Projects have not set up one session or done one thing for this [new] record.”
As a result, the insider believes that Bieber’s “relationship with Scooter has run its course.” And that claim follows rumors that Ariana Grande also ended her time working with Braun. “They are friendly,” clarified another source. “But she’s outgrown him and is excited to go in a different direction.”
Ariana Grande And Demi Lovato Join Justin Bieber In Exits
And like Justin Bieber, both Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato made the decision to exit their relationships with Braun. For instance, an insider close to Grande shared that negotiations occur “because of contracts. But this is her choice. It’s time for something new.”
And Demi Lovato similarly concluded her own working relationship with the talent manager. Lovato had worked with Scooter for four years.
But another source claimed, “All of Scooter Braun’s clients are under contract and negotiations have been going on for several months as Scooter steps into his larger role as HYBE America CEO.”
And the insider alleged that rumors have soared “based on what [people] know. But they are off,” added the source. “Scooter’s team at SB Projects are still handling both Justin and Ariana as they work through what this new structure looks like.”
Scooter Braun Found Justin Bieber Via YouTube
However, the fact that Justin reportedly wants to work on his music without the talent manager marks a milestone in his career. Braun signed Bieber at 13 after discovering him on YouTube.
Then 28, the music manager found Justin by contacting his school and board members to talk with his mother.
And at that point, Justin met with Braun and contracted with his record label Raymond Braun Media Group, which Braun co-founded with Usher.
However, Scooter benefited from the relationship just as much as Bieber. And he created his talent manager kingdom, SB Projects, with clients such as Kanye West and the Black Eyed Peas.
