Learn exactly WHY Kanye decided to delay Kim’s divorce demands. And see how it specifically may relate to Kardashian’s ongoing romance with her boyfriend, 28-year-old “Saturday Night Live” (SNL) comedian Pete Davidson. We’ve got everything you need to know about WHY Kanye mucked up Kim’s split below.
Kanye West OBJECTS To Kim Kardashian Breakup Desires
Sorry, Kim Kardashian. But Kanye West’s third lawyer worked with the rapper to file a response to Kim’s demand to become legally single again, per Page Six. And as the estranged couple’s divorce drags on, Ye (as he’s also also known) revealed THREE very specific reasons for delaying the divorce. First, West demanded protection for his assets prior to the ruling.
Experts see that first demand as representing his concern that Kardashian might tie the knot again (possibly with current beau Pete Davidson?) prior to finalizing the divorce. That analysis stems from the documentation the rapper’s lawyer filed. For instance, the documents show West demanding a “right of reimbursement.” If granted, that would allow either Kanye OR Kim to get back any money owned if one of them passed away. But Kim’s lawyer insisted that the premarital agreement makes that “unnecessary.”
And in his second reason for delaying the divorce, Kanye turned to the topic of assets. But although West wants to prevent asset transfers from their shared trusts, Kim claims their prenup makes that pointless. As a result of that premarital agreement, Kanye may need to give up on the first two reasons for the divorce delay.
Kanye West Drops Kim Kardashian ‘Marital Privilege’ Bombshell!
But Kanye’s third reason for delaying the divorce represents his biggest bombshell! And it links to the four children that the estranged couple share. As a result of his custody concerns, West wants Kim to waive marital privilege for a specific length of time. That would mean delaying until they form a formal custody agreement for the kids and a final property pact.
Translation: If Kardashian agrees to waive marital privilege, all of her communications with Kanye would go into the court record. And (in a connection to Pete Davidson), Kanye demands that Kim waive the privilege if she ties the knot again. As a result, any custody discussions would become court records.
But West did concede one point. Exceptions linked to “income, expenses, assets, debts and employment” will remain private. Next month, a hearing will focus on Kim’s legal marital status. The reality TV star will get A-list representation in the form of famed lawyer Laura Wasser. But the divorce hearings could drag on indefinitely, as they have since Kim’s initial divorce filing in February 2021.
Insiders anticipate that custody of the estranged couple’s four kids daughters North, 8, and Chicago, 4, and sons Saint, 6, and Psalm, 2, will constitute one key focus in the trials.
