Since Kanye moved out, rumors have swirled that the rapper had become “homeless.” But now West has succeeded in canceling those reports. For $4.5 million, Kim Kardashian’s estranged husband now owns a home in a location no one could have predicted.

Why Kanye West Chose Neighboring Home

As a result of Kim’s decision to divorce Kanye, West has reportedly debated about where to live. And then the residence across the street from the rapper’s estranged wife came on the market. The performer didn’t hesitate, revealed the KUWTK insider.

“He scooped it up right when it hit the market in early December and the escrow closed right before Christmas,” added the source. But beware, Kim. Kardashian and her KUWTK co-stars will need to face the construction music in the New Year.

Kanye “plans to tear [the current residence] down and rebuild,” revealed the insider. But the rapper reportedly believes the additional money to create his post-divorce dream home makes “perfect sense,” according to the source. In choosing that location, West sends a clear message to his estranged wife that he’s determined to “have a place near the kids,” added the insider.

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian share four children. North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 2, understandably don’t all comprehend the divorce situation. But the older kids do feel enthusiastic about dad’s new home, according to the source. 

The rapper’s new $4.5 million property in Calabasas, California includes an acre that will allow West to build “whatever he dreams up,” added the insider. “It will take time to get permits and plans and he won’t be able to live there for awhile. But he is excited about it and so are the kids.”
