After spending 8 good months without tweeting the “Donda” rapper Kanye “Ye” West has been reinstated back to the social media platform formerly known as Twitter but currently known as X.
Kanye’s Twitter account was banned on December 2, 2022, after posting an image of a swastika inside a Star of David.
At the time, the then-CEO of Twitter explained his reason for banning Kanye, “I tried my best. Despite that, he again violated our rule against incitement to violence. Account will be suspended.”
Prior to that, Kanye’s account with the platform was banned in October after he posted that he would go “death con [sic] 3 on Jewish people.”
Before being sent to the land of the ban that October, Kanye had it coming for a long time as he made a lot of hateful rhetoric tweets about the Jewish.
That also resulted in Kanye losing millions of dollars and getting dropped by so many companies like Adidas and Gap who were partnering with him at the time.
Kanye West — Kanye Has Been Silent Since His Return
Although Kanye’s first ban didn’t take him up to a month before being reinstated, this last one took him 8 months. Since his return, the 46-year-old has yet to make a post since his return to the social media platform.
Even though he has been silent the news of his reinstatement wasn’t received well by social media users especially since he never showed remorse over his actions nor did he offer any form of apology to the people he hurt with his antisemitic comments.
The StopAntisemitism organization even tweeted on Sunday, “We are disgusted to see antisemite Kanye West unbanned by Twitter. What was once a platform for debate and discussion has simply become a cesspool for bigots to spew their hatred.”
During the time Kanye was banned from Twitter, the Yeezy designer made attempts to buy another social media platform Parler but just as the other brands that cut him off, Parler washed their hands off Kanye after he made comments supporting Adolf Hitler.
He made the comments during his appearance on “InfoWars” when host Alex Jones told him that the treatment he was receiving from social media users and brands he doesn’t, “deserve to be demonized,” after all, “You’re not Hitler, you’re not a Nazi.”
Kanye replied, praised Adolf Hitler, and said Nazis “did good things too; we’ve got to stop dissing the Nazis all the time.”
