Kanye West Throws Self-Pity Party Over Pete Davidson Murder Music Video Backlash

Kanye West has created two dramatically different public personas. First, West has proved himself as a rapper and designer, with fans waiting all night for both his music releases and shoe drops. And second, Kanye has sought to become seen as the man wronged by Kim Kardashian divorcing him. But by venting in long Instagram rants, the 44-year-old father of four has increasingly seen a backlash against that second persona.

As a result, Ye (as he’s also known), just watched in dismay as his animated music video showing Kim’s boyfriend Pete Davidson murder sparked the biggest backlash yet. In that video, Kanye’s avatar kidnaps Pete’s caricature and buries him alive. And the obvious threats in that video horrified fans. Find out how West reacted to the slams below.

Kanye West Feels Sorry For Himself Over Pete Davidson

“Keeping Up With The Kardashians” (KUWTK) star Kim Kardashian, 41, and “Saturday Night Live” (SNL) comedian Pete Davidson, 28, seemed like the original odd couple when they began dating in October 2021. But much to her estranged husband Kanye West’s dismay, Kim and Pete’s romance has blossomed. As a result, Ye has thrown shade in Instagram videos, interviews, and now an animated music video.

But that video in which Kanye’s character murders Pete’s avatar resulted in heated slams from both critics and consumers. And now Kanye has concocted a self-pitying defense. Actually, make that SEVERAL self-pitying defenses. First, West responded that people need to understand he created art, per Us magazine.

And second, West complained that his “art” deserves protection as “freedom of speech.” But the rapper didn’t stop there. In addition, Ye called his art “therapy” and a way to inspire and simplify “the world.” And Kanye doubled down against those who believe his music video constitutes a threat to Pete Davidson.

Kanye West DENIES Threatening Pete Davidson In Murder Music Video!

Fans of Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson fear that Kanye West now threatens the SNL star’s emotional and perhaps even physical health. But West insists that everyone misunderstands him in his lengthy new Instagram. For instance, Ye shared that his music video does not represent “a proxy for any ill or harm.”

And then West turned around the controversy to point at critics. “Any suggestion otherwise about my art is false and mal- intended,” he slammed. But many critics refused to join Ye in his self-pity party.

For instance, one music video viewer responded on Twitter, “I would defend Pete Davidson on this one.” And another pointed out the feeling some got from watching that murder music video. “You know when someone is scared af but they laugh it off? Yeah, that’s the vibe I’m getting here,” wrote the Twitter commentator.

But some feel that above all, Kanye wants to send a message to Kim. And that message seems deceptively simple: “Cancel that divorce!” But given that Kardashian just won her legal battle to drop her ex’s last name, that doesn’t seem likely. As a result, West may need to settle for co-parenting his and Kim’s kids North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 2.
