Kanye West Wins 2022 Grammy, Ties With Jay-Z

Kanye West There’s a tie! Kanye West has made history by becoming the second person to win 24 Grammys after Jay-Z in the history of the Grammy Awards.

On April 3, Kanye won two awards for Best Melodic Rap Performance and Best Rap Song at the show. Kanye now ties with Jay-Z as the two most awarded rappers with 24 Grammy Award wins.

Although Kanye was banned from performing at the Grammys due to his “Concerning Online Behavior,” he was absent on the day of the event.

Why Kanye West Was Banned From Performing At The Grammys

Following Kanye’s 24 hours suspension on Instagram for violation of its policies on hate speech, harassment, and bullying, Kanye was banned from performing at the Grammys over his “Concerning Online Behavior” which entails calling Trevor Noah the Daily Show host a racial slur for speaking about his behavior towards his Ex-wife Kim Kardashian and her boyfriend Pete Davidson the Saturday Night Live star on his show.

Kanye West uploaded a screenshot of a video of his daughter North with the caption, “Since this is my first divorce I need to know what I should do about my daughter being put on TikTok against my will?.” On the 6th of February, he claimed that Kim said she thinks that he has put “a hit out on her.” Three days later, Kanye posted a photo with Kim and their children with the caption, “GOD PLEASE BRING OUR FAMILY BACK TOGETHER.”

One might think Kanye is done with the online nuisance after making a post saying he would take “accountability” for his actions but, it would be least surprising to hear that Kanye released a short music video for his song, “Eazy,” on his social media, the video showed Kanye kidnapping and burying a cartoonlike figure that resembled Pete Davidson, Kim’s boyfriend.

Kanye West Spoilers – Online Attacks

Kanye’s online attacks have been a cause for concern to a lot of people including The Daily Show’s Trevor Noah. Trevor in an already deleted post, expressed his sympathy towards Kanye saying he believes the path Kanye is on is dangerously close to peril and pain.

Trevor said “There are few artists who have had more of an impact on me than you Ye…Which is why it breaks my heart to see you like this.”

He continued “You have every right to fight for your family, But you have to know the difference between that and fighting your family…If you’re just joking about it all and I’m an idiot for caring, then so be it. But I’d rather be the idiot who spoke up and said something to you in life, than the cool guy who said nothing and then mourns for you in prison or the grave.”
