Kardashian – Businesses Get Backlash

Kourtney Kardashian was previously called out by fans for “lying” about her shopping habits. The Kardashians don’t shy away from controversy. They built a massive empire through brand collaborations alone. But it’s come back to bite them.

They could lose some of their sponsorships if they’re not careful. Earlier this year, Kourtney promoted her Lemme supplement brand at Target. Most fans didn’t believe that she shopped at the store. She celebrated her partnership with a shoot that featured her sitting in the shopping cart.

The reality star wore a light brown fur coat with black jeans. She covered her eyes with dark shades and held up one of her Lemme bottles. In another shot, she posed next to the brand’s display in the store’s aisle.

Another photo showed Kourtney Kardashian holding a Target shopping basket as she strutted down the aisles in high heels. The final photo showed her walking out of the bargain store with a shopping bag.

Kourtney revealed in her Instagram post that this brand collaboration was on her “vision board.” Fans criticized the television personality, arguing that she doesn’t shop at Target.

“Girl, don’t act like you go to Target,” one fan wrote.

“Kourtney’s worth $65 million. I don’t think so. You don’t shop at Target,” another user commented.

“You are out of touch. Please figure out a marketing concept for once,” suggested a third user.

Kris Jenner previously received backlash for her collaboration with Walmart. In 2017, Kendall Jenner received controversy for appearing in Pepsi’s ad. She was accused of piggybacking on the Black Lives Matter Movement by handing a police officer a can. Kendall issued an apology before claiming on Keeping Up with the Kardashians that she was bullied into doing so.

Kylie Jenner – Faces Backlash

The final straw was Kylie Jenner’s new Sprinter campaign. She upset fans with the shots she posted from her latest collaboration.

In the photos, she wore a silver bra under a white tank top. Her signature dark hair was rolled in oversized curlers. She posed seductively next to a crate full of Sprinter cans.

On Reddit, critics slammed the ad campaign. Many fans accused Kylie of “cosplaying as a poor person.” Other fans questioned the motive behind the shoot. The artistic direction was confusing to many.

“This would’ve been 10 times better by a pool with cute umbrellas. I don’t understand the art direction for her recent campaigns,” one fan wrote.

“Is there art direction here? I would never assume she’s trying to sell me an alcoholic beverage here,” wrote another user.
