Khloe Kardashian Turned Down Tristan Thompson’s Proposal — Here’s Why

The latest episode of Hulu’s The Kardashians brought a whole lot of news that we never thought we would hear, who would have guessed that Tristan Thompson popped “The Question” and Khloe Kardashian turned him down? Oops! Did I just say that? Well it’s true, Khloe turned Tristan down, and guess what? The proposal happened in December 2020.

During Khloe’s confessional, the Good American Mogul revealed the reason why she turned down the father of her two children, she said that at the time Tristan proposed she wasn’t “comfortable” with where their relationship was, Tristan is notorious for cheating on her, so she didn’t feel the need to say yes to together forever to him, while speaking with her sister Kim, Khloe said, “What I said, is that I need to make sure this is a totally different relationship, because I want to be proud to say I’m engaged to anyone. And that’s why I said, ‘you know, I’m not comfortable accepting this right now, because I’m not excited to tell my family.'”

Beneath all that rich woman facade, Khloe has a good heart, despite all she went through while dating Tristan and how much Tristan disrespected her by sleeping around and getting women pregnant for him, Khloe still didn’t want to give Tristan false hope by accepting his proposal when she knows she’s not ready and proud to be engaged to him, she even explained it to him so that there would be no hard feelings. “I’m not ever going to accept something and give someone false hope—and I said that to him.”

The thing also is that Khloe Kardashian didn’t mention the proposal to any of her family but Tristan already met Kim to tell her about his plans of proposing to Khloe but when it happened, Kim didn’t know, Kim told Khloe that she found out “months later the night after I thought it happened, and he’s like, ‘Oh, I did it months ago. She didn’t tell you guys?'” In Kim’s confessional, Kim said, “I called him the day after and I was like, ‘Hey, I never heard anything from Khloe. Oh my god, did you propose?’ And he was like, ‘Oh yeah, I did in December.'”

Khloe found out about Tristan’s affair the same time the world found out, a scene showed Kim trying to warn Khloe to not go through with the surrogacy since Tristan had another affair and will father the child from that affair. According to Khloe in the new episode, the surrogate got their embryo days before Thanksgiving, a week later, the news of Tristan’s paternity scandal was all over the internet. “We did an embryo transfer days before Thanksgiving, I found out about Tristan’s situation the first week of December, and it’s just so close, I wouldn’t want anyone to think I did this after the fact.”

Khloe also revealed that Tristan was very much aware that Maralee was having his child yet he kept encouraging Khloe to have the second child at a particular date, Tristan wanted the surrogate to be pregnant before the infidelity news leaked. “All I know is I was being encouraged to do it by a certain date, in hindsight, he always knew when the other baby was being born — especially getting the paperwork that we saw, he found out July 2, so he did know.”

In the family meeting they had concerning Khloe’s situation and how they would all show Khloe immense support during the time, Kylie Jenner said, “I just don’t like the fact that Tristan knew that this was happening,” to which Kendall replied, “That’s what’s wild. Like, you were encouraging Khloé to go forward with this while you knew that this was also happening? It’s almost like he wanted to trap her.” In Kylie’s confessional, she said that Tristan’s behavior was something she would never forgive, “I’m just really disappointed in Tristan. I think it’s really f–ked up that he knew he had another baby on the way with somebody else, which makes me uncomfortable to put someone in that position, especially when there’s a child involved.”
