Kate Moss – Shares More Details About The Controversial Night When Johnny Depp Allegedly Pushed Her Down The Stairs

Kate Moss testified in court on behalf of Johnny Depp in his $50 million defamation case, which he brought against his ex-wife Amber Heard. Depp claimed he never hit Amber Heard even though she had described herself as “a public figure representing domestic abuse”. He also said the 2018 op-ed written by Amber Heard – detailing her survival from sexual and physical abuse – defamed him.

During the six-week-long court case, Moss, who was in England at the time, appeared virtually in court to dispute Heard’s claim Depp pushed her down the stairs.

Moss started dating Depp in 1994 and split in 1998, but they’ve remained good friends since then. Contrary to Heard’s claim in court, Moss said she fell down the stairs during a holiday with Depp in Jamaica.

“I know the truth about Johnny. I know he never kicked me down the stairs. I had to say that truth,” Moss said during an appearance on BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs.

At the time of her testimony, Moss had said: “We were leaving the room, Johnny left before I did, and there had been a rain storm. As I left the room, I slid down the stairs and I hurt my back.

“I screamed, because I didn’t know what had happened to me and I was in pain. He came running back to help me and carried me back to my room, and got me medical attention.”

Moss also clarified that Depp “never pushed me, kicked me, or threw me down any stairs”.

At the end of the trial, the jury ruled for Johnny Depp in all three counts of his lawsuit, awarding him $15 million, which was capped off at $10 million.

The jury came to the conclusion that Heard’s statements about her marriage were “false” and that she acted with “actual malice”.
