Kate Moss – To Testify In Johnny Depp And Amber Heard trial
A few weeks ago, Johnny Depp’s lawyers were seen fist-bumping after Amber Heard, 36, brought up Kate Moss in her testimony. Depp, 58, and Moss had dated between 1994 and 1997 and according to sources, she has always been supportive of him. When Heard mentioned the model, legal experts said at the time that this could give Depp the opportunity to quash a rumor that he pushed the British supermodel down the stairs while they were dating.
The New York Post quotes California entertainment lawyer Mitra Ahouraian that this was one mistake Heard made by bringing up Moss. She added that this could potentially open the door to Depp’s legal team to bring the supermodel on as an impeachment witness with Moss “saying, ‘This never happened.’”
At that time, a source close to the Pirates of the Caribbean actor told the New York Post that Amber mentioning one of Johnny’s exes was a big mistake. Heard clearly feels Moss is not supportive of Depp, “which couldn’t be further from the truth.”
Amber Heard – Brings Up Kate Moss
Kate Moss was mentioned by Heard during her May 5 testimony where she spoke of a fight in March 2015. She claimed that she punched Depp in the face due to fear that he was going to push her sister Whitney down the stairs. According to the Aquaman actress, she instantly thought of “Kate Moss and the stairs. As she did so, his lawyers were seen to immediately fist-bump.
Originally, the British supermodel wasn’t expected to testify, as the staircase rumor was not related to the Virginia trial. However, Heard mentioning her has paved the way for Depp’s lawyers to call her to the stand.
Moss’s testimony will be heard on the third to last day of the six-week trial, which wraps up Friday. The British supermodel could be a crucial character witness for Depp.
The Rum Diaries actor is suing his ex-wife Heard for $50 million over a Washington Post op-ed in 2018. In the op-ed, she claimed she was a “public figure representing domestic abuse.” While the article didn’t mention Depp, he claims it ruined his career and caused him to lose millions of dollars.
