Katharine McPhee Pregnant, Expecting First Child With Husband David Foster

Singer/actress Katharine McPhee and her music mogul husband David Foster have good news to report the couple are having a baby!

The baby will be the first for McPhee, 36, and the sixth for Foster, 70. The happy news comes after the pair married in 2019.

Foster has five daughters and has been married five times: to B.J. Cook, Rebecca Dyer, Linda Thompson, Yolanda Hadid, and McPhee. McPhee was previously married to Nick Cokas from 2008 to 2016.

Foster’s first child, Allison Jones Foster, was born when David was 20-years old and was subsequently placed for adoption, with the Grammy winner reconnecting with her 30 years later.

Katherine McPhee and David Foster will soon be parents

McPhee is already showing an adorable baby bump. She and Foster were seen on October 6 shopping at baby stores in Montecito, California, with her tummy bulge visible in leggings and a snug t-shirt. The couple has not commented on the pregnancy publicly yet but sources confirmed the news to People magazine.

Did McPhee drop a major hint about her condition during her GLOW 2020 performance on October 3? At that time she sang, She Used to Be Mine, a hit from her Broadway show, Waitress. When she sang the song’s line, “and the life that’s inside her, growing stronger every day,” she took that moment to cradle her stomach.

The music industry power couple met in 2006. At that time the legendary music mogul acted as the then-unknown singer’s mentor when she appeared on season 5 of American Idol.

They went their separate ways but reconnected down the road and married in 2019 in London and honeymooned in Italy.

This will be McPhee’s first child while Foster has five: three daughters with his second wife, Rebecca Dyer (Sara, 39, Erin, 38, and Jordan, 34), daughter Amy, 46, with his first wife, BJ Cook, and he has a fifth daughter, Allison, 50, from a previous relationship.

The couple has been in the news recently after being name-dropped in relation to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle who also reside in Montecito. The two women went to high school in LA together and it’s been reported that after the two couples met, Foster became a “father figure” to expatriate Harry. So, perhaps we should say that Foster is expecting his seventh child?

Sources recently claimed that Harry and Meghan will be hosting Christmas at their new mansion, with Foster and McPhee (and baby makes three) on the guest list.
