Katy Perry Reveals the Trick She Learned As A Result Of Sitting Through Countless Hair And Makeup
When you have to sit through an entire glam makeup routine almost every single day of your life, you pick up an unusual trick or two. One of these tricks is keeping one eye open, perfected over the years to become what we now see as an ultra-prolonged wink.
According to Perry, this allows her to apply her shadow whilst keeping her eyes open to see what a hair stylist is doing.
The “Roar” singer shared an indepth look into the viral “doll eye” trick with Vogue as part of their web series “Life in Looks.”
“I do this pose called ‘doll eye,’ I can close one eye at a time and still like maintain all function. I’ve sat in a hair and make-up chair for 15 years. If they’re putting eyeshadow on this eye and someone is putting my hair up into a french twist, I want to give notes in real-time,” Perry, 38, explains while keeping one eye closed the entire time.

After the brief speech, she teased fans by glitching a little bit, messing up their wildest theories that her onstage glitch during a performance last October was abnormal. The performance saw Perry, who was dressed in a soda can-like outfit that featured cans as bras and pull tabs making up her dress, try to open her eyes and not being able to open them all the way during the performance.
Katy Perry Took To Instagram And Joked About It.
Immediately after going viral for what is now known as “the Glitch,” Katy Perry took to Instagram and joked about it, calling those who were already coming up with the most fantastic conspiracy theories “flatearthers” and “skyisntbluers.”
