When the news of Kendall Jenner and Devin Booker’s breakup after two years of dating began, the real reason for their split was unknown because no one could decipher what went wrong as they both seemed to be perfect for each other. Well, a source has recently revealed to Page Six that the duo had the “Where is this relationship heading” talk and both realized they had different ideas about it and chose to focus on their careers.

“While they care for each other, Devin was not going to propose marriage and his priority is his career,” says the source. “Kendall’s career also dominates her life.”

Booker, 25, is on the Phoenix Suns while reality star Jenner, 26, is busy with her highly successful modeling career.

I think this is perfectly natural to be dating someone and want to not rush things, take it step by step as they come. It’s all good until you witness someone else’s beautiful moment of vowing to spend eternity with their lover and you say to yourself “I think I want this.” That was how it was for Kendall Jenner.

It was after attending her sister Kourtney Kardashian’s wedding with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker in Italy last month that the thought for the future began swirling around Kendall’s head.

The source told Page Six: “After two years they had the ‘where is this going’ talk, and since they were not moving forward, it was time to take a break, probably permanently.” The source spilled: “While they care for each other, Devin was not going to propose marriage and his priority is his career. Kendall’s career also dominates her life.”

The source also said that “Kendall is surrounded by her closest friends at the moment. She is not heartbroken, but she is sad.”

Entertainment Tonight first broke the news of the split, with a source telling them the couple was on “different paths.” And that they had “discussions about their future, but they are not on the same page.”

Kendall and Devin began dating in 2020 but kept it private until Valentine’s Day 2021 when Kendall posted a photo of her and Booker cuddling on Instagram.

“What first seemed like a fun hookup, is now a relationship. They are exclusive and Kendall is very happy with Devin,” a People insider gushed that month. “This is the happiest Kendall has ever been in a relationship. She and Devin started out slowly, but have dated for about a year now,” said a People insider that April.

The source insisted it was “obvious that they have something special going on’ despite how ‘private’ Kendall is ‘about their relationship.”

Devin gingerly touched on his personal life while chatting with the Wall Street Journal this March and sharing how happy he is in general. “I’m enjoying life to the fullest, and that came off my tongue so easily because it wasn’t always this way, but I feel like I’m in a good place right now,” he said.

“I love my family, I love the people around me, and I love the impact that I get to have on this world, the younger generation under me and the kids who look up to me.”

That same month an E! News insider disclosed: “Kendall and Devin’s relationship is going strong, but they are in no rush to settle down and tie the knot.”
